About Us P is a fun-loving and funky girl who likes the sun, sand and the sea. She loves to eat things that are spicy but will always end up perspiring and crying into the bowl of hot spicy soup. Her favorite cuisines are Japanese, Thai and German. Her favourite foods are Salmon Sashimi, Curry Katsu Don and a huge variety of sushi, Tom Yam soup and Bratwurst und Curry Wurst. Hangouts that you might be able to spot her at are Causeway Point's Sakae Sushi and Wisma Atria's Republic Food Court, NUS' Lerk Thai outlet and this stall in Chinatown run by a rather grumpy and odd Austrian man.. wahahaha... ;) E also loves fun. As long as its fun. She doesn't like the sun, sometimes likes the sand and sea. She loves to eat spicy things depending on her mood. Will also end up crying and perspiring after the chili has gone in. She has food cravings periodically. No, she's not pregnant. Prefers plain water with everything because all other drinks will make her burping worse. She loves Japanese cuisine and the different kinds food. Actually, she just loves food! All kinds of food as long as they are not expired, don't taste funny and don't make her sick. Beeeef Jeerrrkyyyy!!! Oh and one of her food goals in life is to drink milk fresh from a cow. Thursday, January 21, 2010 Haha, without realizing, it has been 2 years. How time files. Really flew. 2 years ago seemed so old to me. But I'm still me. Just with plenty of changes. Ate a lot more too. Found some really delicious yummy munchies! Thursday, September 18, 2008 I'm utterly craving for good Japanese food and I think that chain sushi joints are really getting over-rated! Eunice knows how much I loveeeee Japanese food.... hahaha.. almost every single time we meet this is our conversation: E: What you want to eat? I thank God for Eunice cos she's SO HOW?! GOT ANY GOOD JAPANESE EATERY TO RECOMMEND NOT?! haha.. :D Thanks a lot for your contributions. hehe. Thursday, September 11, 2008 Last post was on the 18th of June, 2008. Wowie! LOL. Well, we have been busy, and lazy, so needless to say, most apologetic. I shall now update what we have been eating so far. Though to me it doesn't seem like alot for 2 months, because half the time, we forgot to take pictures. Heh heh. This time, Crystal Jade was involved. We spent some time discussing on what to order. I finally decided on plain noodle soup that had some greens in it. Was feeling sick that day. The soup was nice though. Like wanton soup. Ahh... We ordered roast duck to eat with my noodles and P's rice. Rather fat a duck cos' it was oozing oil... I'm a huge fan of mushrooms in case you didn't know. And this dish was nice to me although the taste could have been less sweet? Nevertheless, its mushrooms! I love!!We didn't take much photos although I think P has some in her phone. She might upload them when she's free. Yesterday, we dropped by at Han's and we so conveniently forgot to take pictures although P had her camera with her. We were finishing desert when P suddenly "Uh No!!!". I just carried on eating and told her, "Don't even say it. I know." Ho Ho Ho...But anyway, I like the peach tart there and the coffee cake although I wished it was fresher. The blackforest cake is good too, but they didn't have it on display. :( What we ordered was yummy as well, my Grilled Dory Fillet and Miss P's fried spaghetti? Got to ask her what is it exactly she ordered. There, should be updated now.. Tuesday, June 17, 2008 What a feast we had today! Tonight rather. At Jack's Place - Seafood Harvest. We took some pictures, P and I. That would be P. We were taking pictures of each other while waiting for the food to arrive. My photo is in her mobile. :P![]() Table setting and a small view of the place from where P was seated. Finally! My Boston Clam Chowder!!! Delicious! Creamy and full of goodies inside. I did add a dash of pepper and salt to it. Enhanced the flavour. Haha. Erm, I think was Caeser Salad with Smoked Salmon? Delicious no matter what the name is. I absolutely love smoked salmon! Mmmhhh...taste the slight smoky saltish salmon with lettuce and salad dressing just makes you feel selfish! ( We shared all we ordered) Guess what?![]() Our Seafood Platter!!! Looks like alot. We were exclaiming too much!! Still, we ate every single thing. The waiter kept checking on us. Lol. Amazed at our stomachs? ![]() This was what was on my plate. There was baked pasta with fish on the top...Tasted very crispy and the cheese helped alot! However, the paste underneath was a little bland for me. There were fresh oysters, mussels, fresh prawns, baked scallops, baked prawns, baked crab sticks, fish and chips with calamari and prawns. Oh, not to forget, some lettuce leaves. I felt that the prawns were in great supply, because fresh prawns, baked prawns and fried prawns? Do the math. Lol. Finally, dessert! Ice-cream with brownie! The brownie was warm inside...and oh so chocolatey! Vanilla ice-cream is one of my favourites. So a rather lethal combination I'd say.![]() So you see a happy P there? Yep, that's her. We've come to the end of this feasting round. Hope to see you again! * I know its a little short but I'm so worn out from digesting all the food! ** Sorry people, I accidently deleted the photos meant for my Sichuan bowl noodles. So uh, no need to wait for photos anymore. Oops. Sunday, June 15, 2008 E, u like hot and spicy Sichuan soup?? Ohhh.. You should try the Sichuan La Mian at the Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao!! It's super nice!! Then again, I'm proud that u managed to find Sichuan instant noodles! I'll try it soon! Is it available else where other than NUS Co-op? And frankly, I can't believe you typed the name of the instant noodles in chinese!! Upload photos soon k! Btw, I think you have a cute face.. no food involved pls. :D Nono.. you are white chick face and I'm black chicken face.. how about that! Hahaha.. Anyway, I'm totally addicted to the Myojo Mee Soto instant noodles in the bowl... Have you tasted it? ![]() Man, it's sooo tasty and the soup's really as good as the original thing. Well, it has those kind of dried vegetables inside. It also satisfies hunger pretty well. The soup's not too spicy too... Just remember to add the seasoning according to how spicy you would like it! :) Did I tell you that my Mauritian friend tried it and liked it too? :D Hee.. So thanks for recommending it to me ya, E! So where are we heading on Wednesday? You can decide on the place k! But choose something that is... mmm... affordable. Don't take me to a restaurant that I'll most prob end up washing the dishes after our meal!! :D LOL!! Can't wait! Friday, June 13, 2008 I like the hot and spicy Sichuan soup. Mmmhh...and now! I've found theSichuan noodles in a bowl! Congratulate me! haha. I found it at the NUS Co-op at Science. It says on the bowl, 正宗四川名小吃,正宗酸辣味/麻辣牛肉味. In english, it says, 'Spicy Beef Flavour/Original Hot & Sour Flavour(Instant Sweet Potato Noodle)". I bought those 2 to try. I like beef. Yum yum. The most worth eating red meat I would say. Actually, I like all kinds of meat, just not mutton and sometimes pork. Favourite is beef :D Ok, back to my Sichuan noodles. I'm unable to upload my photos now, will do so when home. I shall eat one now I think. Although its way past lunch time. Lol. Oh greedy me. I told my colleague that I'm breadface, then a few days later I told her I'm mushroom face. She was wondering how can I be 2 faced? HAHA! I admit, I'm not only bread face I'm mushroom face, actually, I'm totally food face. I shall savour the noodles now...wait for the photos people! Sunday, June 8, 2008 Finally back here blogging after such a longgg time! I've been really busy these days! But never too busy to take a snapshot of the instant foods that are so part of my life these days! Seriously, there are getting more and more interesting instant foods around... no more are they just limited to instant noodles and instant 3 in 1 drinks! There's so much more! Was just telling my bf that I can probably cook a full course meal with all instant foods! It's true!! Anyway, here's my new discovery of the week! :D ![]() Okie.. Firstly, I think I'm a sua-gu (mountain tortise) cos I really didn't know there's such a thing called instant porridge in a cup. I know of the instant porridge that you have to cook over the stove and those are really yummy especially when you are sick and too lazy to cook up something proper to eat. Anyway, I came across this instant porridge in a cup and was soooo thrilled by it! It's only 160 calories and basically low in fat BUT.. of cos.. high in sodium.. ;P And all you need to do is just add hot water! No need to mix seasoning (which reduces the hassle to find a pair of scissors) and a spoon is provided too! The porridge really smells like the real deal which is soooo gd! I was soo excited to try it that I forgot to stir it properly and evenly for the first 1 minute! Did I tell you it only takes 1 minute to prepare? Hahaha.. The texture isn't as smooth as the original thing but good enough to satisfy that hunger for something to fill up the tummy. It even has tiny bits of duck meat!! Haha.. And has the fragrance of roasted duck... yum yum.. Well, like I said, it can satisfy hunger and smells and tastes like the real deal! Give it a try! It's something different as compared to the twiggy yellow noodles in the cup! Cheers, P p.s.: E, you need to start uploading photos for our blog whenever you try something new! Especially like Nissin Chilli Crab?! I've not eaten that before! Nice not?? :P And i wanna go Dian Xiao Er for the next foodie outing... hee.. Tuesday, June 3, 2008 I know I can always count on P to update our food outings! Heh heh! I'm quite clueless when it comes to such things. I only know how to EAT!!! So, I've tried recently, the Nissin Chilli Crab! Ho Ho! Looks hot but its not hot. HAHAHA! Imagine how happy I was! The Tom Yam is anytime spicer than Chilli Crab! (Sorry, no photos. You can take a walk down the supermarket aisle where they stock up on the instant noodles and start as long as you want.) Its covered with red card board which says N-I-S-S-I-N CHILLI CRAB. Ooh! The moment you see it....$_$ Haha..I'm being stupid there. O.O Did you see the new tagboard??? Ahh...superb! I could never manage a tagboard for my own blog. Pathetic. I don't really mind anyway. So...Who's up for the next foodie outing!!!!??? Saturday, May 31, 2008 E and I recently visited the Soup Restaurant at Causeway Point, Woodlands to celebrate our friend, Amelia's birthday! Frankly, I can say that it's one of the better Chinese restaurants I've been to in this country. :D That's E and P!! Amelia was asking us to pose for the camera just before our dishes were being dealt out.. I told Amelia that I look horrid that day and it's sooo true!! Look at the photo!! Sheesh.. i can see all my blemishes and skin imperfections... sobz.. :( ![]() Look at E and Amelia.. sooo sporting to camwhore! Wahaha.. ![]() We ordered some set meal for 3 people! It included a plate of their famous Chicken plate, the Beggar's Ribs, a Toufu dish, Sambal Kangkong, Rice and Ginseng Chicken Soup. Check out the chicken dish.... It was really good!! ![]() The dish in another angle! hAHAHA.. ![]() See how cute and happy they are when the chicken dish arrived?? ![]() Frankly, so was I!! ![]() Now check out the rest of our set meal.............. ![]() ![]() ![]() Overall, I LOVED the Ginseng Chicken soup though I wished it wasn't that bitter.. The Ginger chicken dish was FANTASTIC that I felt I could eat an entire plate on my own.. hahaha.. Sambal Kangkong was really just sambal kangkong (seriously, how could this traditional dish go wrong???). Beggar's Ribs is a signature dish of the restaurant and for me, it tasted like well, Pork Ribs... (hahaha.. You should try the Guiness Stout Pork Ribs at Vista Kitchen instead!!) The Toufu was not bad thought I felt that there could be gravy with the toufu and it not just being dry with a lot of erm... dried prawns?? Hahaha.. I liked the atmosphere except for this table of really LOUDDDDDD group of working female adults.. Gosh.. they were talking and laughing so loudly that I thought it was quite off-putting especially it coming from women?! Don't they realise that dining should be a pleasant experience rather than just hysterical laughters and conversations that the whole world does not need to know of??? Singaporeans should be educated on dining etiquette.. SERIOUSLY. Nvm.. I had a great time! And I'm sure E and Amelia did too... I hope? hahaha.. Ciao, P Friday, May 30, 2008 Those were Myojo Curry Noodles. The Super one is rather small compared to Myojo bowl noodles. Aiya, but both also nice la. Tsk tsk. P, you buy cup noodles stock up then let me know I go over to take from you. Today I had the Nong Shim mushroom big bowl noodles! Just a little spicy, and very appetizing! Mmmmmh! Also on offer now at NTUC, 6 Nong Shim mini cups for 4.95 I think. Those like Super's size. I like my noodles not soggy, so Nong Shim was just nice. Eat fast of course, otherwise it will become like worms. Eeks. Hey E, What Curry Noodles are those? You supposed to take photo of the brand and packaging of the noodles la... not just the noodles!! U get? HAhaha.. just joking.. Looks like a mighty nice bowl of hot noodles... Anyway, I still think if you want curry noodles, you should try to Maggi Curry Noodles or the Super Cup Curry Noodles... those are delicious! In fact, Super Cup Curry Noodles are so delicious that my whole JC class had it for our dinner every day while mugging in school during A levels period! :D And the Super brand people had to restock the venting machine almost every 2 days!! Anyway, the Myojo Mee Soto is on sale at Sheng Shiong.. $2.05 for 2 bowls.. u want? heehee.. Cheers, P Wednesday, May 28, 2008 Lunch was that. <- Smell the curry? Haha. It may look plain, but it taste just right for bowl noodles. Not healthy yes, but saved me some money. If you have other ingredients, do some add ons with it. May seem like an overkill but hey, it will be quite a full meal if that's what you want. Careful not to scald your tongue! Monday, May 26, 2008 Fishball (Instant) Noodles! That's what I'm planning to cook for dinner later tonight for myself and Calvin! I love to eat fishball noodles and so does E.. We always look out for those QQ (bouncy) fishballs that are so tasty! E loves fishballs too! She's the one who turned me into a fishball lover when I was really young (E, I don't think you ever knew this but it is true!! really!). Anyway, fishball noodles are really easy and fast to cook.. the traditional noodles actually make use of yellow egg noodles but in replacement, I'm going to use Myojo Chicken Flavour Instant Noodles. So what you need for 1 person's serving are the following ingredients: 1. Pek Chye (Green leafy vegetables) 2. Beansprouts 3. Fishballs (4-5) 4. Dried/Fried Anchovies/ Ikan Bilis ( used alternatively for the soup stock) 5. A packet of Instant Noodles First, boil a pot of water with high heat. Once the water is boiling, add in the noodles and bring the pot to a simmer. Add in the packet of flavouring provided in the packet of instant noodles (Add according to how tasty you want the soup to be). Alternatively, if you do not want to use the flavouring and opt for a more fishy and tasty soup, you can always boil the water with a bunch of dried/fried anchovies. Add in a teaspoon of salt and some pepper for taste. Let the soup boil for about 15minutes before adding in the noodles. Next, add in the fishballs and top it with the vegetables, Pek Chye first followed by the bean sprouts. Turn up to medium heat and wait for everything to cook. Then serve everything in a bowl and garnish with some fried onions and a dash of pepper. There you have it! A tasty bowl of fishball instant noodles! :D I hope you enjoy this simple recipe that does take you long and without much difficulty to convert a plain bowl of instant noodles into a nice and nutritious meal! Love, P Sunday, May 25, 2008 Hmm...not bad eh? Blog skin makes it looks oriental. Noodles ma...from orient. Well, not forgetting from the West too. Spaghetti! I eat instant noodles! Cup/bowl noodles are easy, because you just add hot water. Maybe I'll eat one tomorrow for lunch. Save money, save energy and maybe lost some weight. Haha! As if!. I don't think instant noodles will help you lose weight healthily. Please, its just a craving that I have quite often. Gee, anybody thought of an instant noodles party? P! We should hold one!!!
