About Us P is a fun-loving and funky girl who likes the sun, sand and the sea. She loves to eat things that are spicy but will always end up perspiring and crying into the bowl of hot spicy soup. Her favorite cuisines are Japanese, Thai and German. Her favourite foods are Salmon Sashimi, Curry Katsu Don and a huge variety of sushi, Tom Yam soup and Bratwurst und Curry Wurst. Hangouts that you might be able to spot her at are Causeway Point's Sakae Sushi and Wisma Atria's Republic Food Court, NUS' Lerk Thai outlet and this stall in Chinatown run by a rather grumpy and odd Austrian man.. wahahaha... ;) E also loves fun. As long as its fun. She doesn't like the sun, sometimes likes the sand and sea. She loves to eat spicy things depending on her mood. Will also end up crying and perspiring after the chili has gone in. She has food cravings periodically. No, she's not pregnant. Prefers plain water with everything because all other drinks will make her burping worse. She loves Japanese cuisine and the different kinds food. Actually, she just loves food! All kinds of food as long as they are not expired, don't taste funny and don't make her sick. Beeeef Jeerrrkyyyy!!! Oh and one of her food goals in life is to drink milk fresh from a cow. And she calls milk cow juice. Cheers! About This Blog This blog represents our love and passion for food and especially for instant noodles. Saturday, May 31, 2008 E and I recently visited the Soup Restaurant at Causeway Point, Woodlands to celebrate our friend, Amelia's birthday! Frankly, I can say that it's one of the better Chinese restaurants I've been to in this country. :D That's E and P!! Amelia was asking us to pose for the camera just before our dishes were being dealt out.. I told Amelia that I look horrid that day and it's sooo true!! Look at the photo!! Sheesh.. i can see all my blemishes and skin imperfections... sobz.. :( ![]() Look at E and Amelia.. sooo sporting to camwhore! Wahaha.. ![]() We ordered some set meal for 3 people! It included a plate of their famous Chicken plate, the Beggar's Ribs, a Toufu dish, Sambal Kangkong, Rice and Ginseng Chicken Soup. Check out the chicken dish.... It was really good!! ![]() The dish in another angle! hAHAHA.. ![]() See how cute and happy they are when the chicken dish arrived?? ![]() Frankly, so was I!! ![]() Now check out the rest of our set meal.............. ![]() ![]() ![]() Overall, I LOVED the Ginseng Chicken soup though I wished it wasn't that bitter.. The Ginger chicken dish was FANTASTIC that I felt I could eat an entire plate on my own.. hahaha.. Sambal Kangkong was really just sambal kangkong (seriously, how could this traditional dish go wrong???). Beggar's Ribs is a signature dish of the restaurant and for me, it tasted like well, Pork Ribs... (hahaha.. You should try the Guiness Stout Pork Ribs at Vista Kitchen instead!!) The Toufu was not bad thought I felt that there could be gravy with the toufu and it not just being dry with a lot of erm... dried prawns?? Hahaha.. I liked the atmosphere except for this table of really LOUDDDDDD group of working female adults.. Gosh.. they were talking and laughing so loudly that I thought it was quite off-putting especially it coming from women?! Don't they realise that dining should be a pleasant experience rather than just hysterical laughters and conversations that the whole world does not need to know of??? Singaporeans should be educated on dining etiquette.. SERIOUSLY. Nvm.. I had a great time! And I'm sure E and Amelia did too... I hope? hahaha.. Ciao, P Friday, May 30, 2008 Those were Myojo Curry Noodles. The Super one is rather small compared to Myojo bowl noodles. Aiya, but both also nice la. Tsk tsk. P, you buy cup noodles stock up then let me know I go over to take from you. Today I had the Nong Shim mushroom big bowl noodles! Just a little spicy, and very appetizing! Mmmmmh! Also on offer now at NTUC, 6 Nong Shim mini cups for 4.95 I think. Those like Super's size. I like my noodles not soggy, so Nong Shim was just nice. Eat fast of course, otherwise it will become like worms. Eeks. Hey E, What Curry Noodles are those? You supposed to take photo of the brand and packaging of the noodles la... not just the noodles!! U get? HAhaha.. just joking.. Looks like a mighty nice bowl of hot noodles... Anyway, I still think if you want curry noodles, you should try to Maggi Curry Noodles or the Super Cup Curry Noodles... those are delicious! In fact, Super Cup Curry Noodles are so delicious that my whole JC class had it for our dinner every day while mugging in school during A levels period! :D And the Super brand people had to restock the venting machine almost every 2 days!! Anyway, the Myojo Mee Soto is on sale at Sheng Shiong.. $2.05 for 2 bowls.. u want? heehee.. Cheers, P Wednesday, May 28, 2008 Lunch was that. <- Smell the curry? Haha. It may look plain, but it taste just right for bowl noodles. Not healthy yes, but saved me some money. If you have other ingredients, do some add ons with it. May seem like an overkill but hey, it will be quite a full meal if that's what you want. Careful not to scald your tongue! Monday, May 26, 2008 Fishball (Instant) Noodles! That's what I'm planning to cook for dinner later tonight for myself and Calvin! I love to eat fishball noodles and so does E.. We always look out for those QQ (bouncy) fishballs that are so tasty! E loves fishballs too! She's the one who turned me into a fishball lover when I was really young (E, I don't think you ever knew this but it is true!! really!). Anyway, fishball noodles are really easy and fast to cook.. the traditional noodles actually make use of yellow egg noodles but in replacement, I'm going to use Myojo Chicken Flavour Instant Noodles. So what you need for 1 person's serving are the following ingredients: 1. Pek Chye (Green leafy vegetables) 2. Beansprouts 3. Fishballs (4-5) 4. Dried/Fried Anchovies/ Ikan Bilis ( used alternatively for the soup stock) 5. A packet of Instant Noodles First, boil a pot of water with high heat. Once the water is boiling, add in the noodles and bring the pot to a simmer. Add in the packet of flavouring provided in the packet of instant noodles (Add according to how tasty you want the soup to be). Alternatively, if you do not want to use the flavouring and opt for a more fishy and tasty soup, you can always boil the water with a bunch of dried/fried anchovies. Add in a teaspoon of salt and some pepper for taste. Let the soup boil for about 15minutes before adding in the noodles. Next, add in the fishballs and top it with the vegetables, Pek Chye first followed by the bean sprouts. Turn up to medium heat and wait for everything to cook. Then serve everything in a bowl and garnish with some fried onions and a dash of pepper. There you have it! A tasty bowl of fishball instant noodles! :D I hope you enjoy this simple recipe that does take you long and without much difficulty to convert a plain bowl of instant noodles into a nice and nutritious meal! Love, P Sunday, May 25, 2008 Hmm...not bad eh? Blog skin makes it looks oriental. Noodles ma...from orient. Well, not forgetting from the West too. Spaghetti! I eat instant noodles! Cup/bowl noodles are easy, because you just add hot water. Maybe I'll eat one tomorrow for lunch. Save money, save energy and maybe lost some weight. Haha! As if!. I don't think instant noodles will help you lose weight healthily. Please, its just a craving that I have quite often. Gee, anybody thought of an instant noodles party? P! We should hold one!!!
